Launching Ceremony of ACEF-UNEP Project on Development of Green Community to Promote Sustainable Consumption

        Since November 2014, All China Environment Federation (ACEF) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) together implemented the project on “the development of green communities to promote sustainable consumption”, which aims at promoting sustainable consumption patterns among the general public in the residential areas of communities in China.
     
         The objectives of the project are to raise the public awareness on sustainable consumption patterns; to support consumer’s behaviors and choices in use of environmentally-friendly goods and services; and to promote national policy change to support sustainable consumption in China.
     
        The project launching and appraisal meeting was held on 23rd January 2014, in Beijing, China. Ms. Xie Yuhong, the Project Director and Deputy Secretary General of ACEF, made an introduction to the project; Ms. Jin Min, the Representative of the Expert Project Team and Vice Professor of the School of Environment and Natural Resources, Renmin University, made a presentation on the project research outline and questionnaires. 10 experts from the government, the research institute and Civil Society Organizations put forward opinions and suggestion on questionnaires, outline, education and publicity. Mr. Lv Keqin, Deputy Secretary General of ACEF, hosted the meeting.
     
        Ms. Gao Xiaoyi, Head of the International Cooperation Department, Ms. Li Lei, Ms. Yao Lingling, Ms. Liujie and Mr. Huang Bingwen, and college volunteers from the Renmin University, participated in the meeting.
