Mr. Feng Xiaoxing, Deputy Secretary General of ACEF, participated in the high-level policy twinning tour in Sweden during the period 23 -27 September 2013. ACEF is one of the project partners and key stakeholders in the EU-China Environmental Governance Programme Partnership Project “Improving access to environmental justice to protect people’s environmental rights in Guizhou province” (EGP-Guizhou). The EU-China high-level tour Sweden was organised by IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute with support from the EC delegation to China, and funded by the European Union.

The twinning tour is an important part of EGP- Guizhou project to promote mutual learning and to share experiences between China and the EU within the fields of environmental rights and justice. The purpose of the tour is for invited participants to, together with key stakeholders in the EU, compare and discuss the different legal systems and assess the impact of implemented policy and on-going implemented policy, which will supply technical support in promoting the policy change. The tour has a particular focus on Public Interest Litigation system and on liability and compensation for environmental damages.
