The GEF-NGO Network (hereinafter referred to as the Network) was established in May 1995. It was the result of a GEF Council decision to strengthen dialogue and partnership between NGOs worldwide and the GEF Secretariat, the GEF Council, the GEF Assembly and various partner agencies. The Network focuses on the environment and sustainable development aligned with the GEF mandate. So far, members of the Network from China include 13 organizations, eg. Nature Friends, Beijing Global Village, Green Camel Bell. Being a member of the Network, ACEF has the opportunity to contribute to the policy making of GEF and raise any concerns on GEF processes or implementation, and to participate in the Network meetings and activities, and to be notified of funding and capacity building opportunities.   |
