The Congress called on the international community to raise ambition and jointly advance transformational, collaborative solutions that benefit both people and nature. It emphasized the need to strengthen synergies among multilateral environmental agreements, ensuring coherent and aligned outcomes at the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), in order to achieve a net-zero, resilient, and nature-positive future. As the highest decision-making body of IUCN, the WCC adopts motions through member voting, which then become resolutions and recommendations forming the core of IUCN’s policies and programs. These decisions play a critical role in driving global action to address nature loss and other pressing environmental challenges. As an IUCN Member, the All-China Environment Federation (ACEF) was represented at the Congress and participated in on-site voting throughout the meeting. The Congress also adopted IUCN’s new 20-year strategic vision and four-year program, providing strategic guidance for the Union’s work through 2030.

During the Congress, ACEF jointly organized an exhibition with the China Green Carbon Sink Foundation. The exhibition attracted government officials, representatives of international organizations, researchers, and business leaders from over 30 countries and regions across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Through in-depth exchanges on ACEF’s work in biodiversity conservation, climate change, and plastic pollution, the exhibition enabled participants to gain a more direct understanding of the professional expertise and practical experience of Chinese environmental social organizations. Engagement with international representatives also helped explore potential cooperation opportunities and further strengthened the participation and influence of Chinese civil society in global environmental governance. ![]()

In addition, ACEF co-hosted the side event “Promote Business Nature-Positive Transition through Green Finance and Nature-Related Disclosure” together with the Shan Shui Conservation Center. The event focused on the critical role of the business sector in biodiversity conservation, with speakers sharing insights on innovations in green finance instruments, the application of the TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) framework, and standards for quantifying and disclosing corporate nature footprints. The side event attracted active participation from representatives of financial institutions, multinational corporations, and international organizations. ![]()
